Early Years Framework

The National & Victorian Early Years Learning and Developmental Framework forms the foundation for ensuring that children in all early childhood education and care settings are provided with opportunities to maximise their potential and develop a foundation for future success.

The framework’s vision is for all children to experience play- based learning that is engaging, builds success for life and recognises the importance of communication, language and social & emotional development.

Play is very important for children. Through play babies and young children explore and learn to understand the world around them as they come to communicate, discover, imagine and create. When children play they are showing what they have learned and what they are trying to understand.

The framework has been designed for use by early childhood educators working in partnership with families, to guide your child’s play by carefully designing learning activities and stimulating indoor and outdoor learning environments.
